So that recreation, while frowned upon if caught, is reserved for shore. The main recreation is sleeping. I Sh!t you not. On SSBNs and SSGNs you have the ability to run in the missile compartment. Workouts are pretty limited otherwise. Bench weights in the torpedo room if you have a spotter and not in an operation that would restrict that activity. My boat had a stationary bike in the torpedo room also. Pullups, situps, etc. for workouts if you call that recreation. Movies. Organized movies in the crew's mess. Guys I work with that have served since I got out had personal DVD players.
